Leonardo in Vigevano

Is it a coincidence that the Piazza Ducale of Vigevano is so similar to Leonardo’s drawings of the ideal city? Perhaps not, given the numerous other traces that the genius from the region of Florence left in this beautiful town not far from Milan during the reign of Ludovico Sforza. A reconstruction of the history of this relationship through studies and drawings is to be presented in the new permanent exhibition space devoted to Leonardo da Vinci that will open in mid-May, entitled Leonardiana. Un museo nuovo.

Laid out in the historic rooms of the Castello Sforzesco to a design by Migliore+Servetto Architects, the exhibition recounts the development  of Leonardo’s thought using multimedia and displays on the basis of a programme drawn up by Claudia Zevi & Partners and Professor Carlo Pedretti. The museum is sponsored by the Consorzio A.S.T. and the municipality of Vigevano (with the support of Fondazione Cariplo, Arcus spa and Giunti).
